World Cafe: Next - Courtney Barnett: Ride The Wave Of This 25 Year Old Australian’s Extraordinary Lyrics

Courtney Barnett is a 25 years old from Melbourne, Australia. She has been self-releasing EPs since 2012 and two have now been made more available in The Double EP: A Sea of Split Peas.
Courtney’s talent is in her lyrics which are delivered very matter of factly. You ride a wave of momentary observations until full insight about the song breaks on you. She has rightfully received a lot of attention for “Avant Gardner,” a first person song about suffering an anaphylactic shock. We will play a couple of her songs for you. Courtney will be touring in the States this February. Be sure to sign up to download the two songs as this week’s World Cafe: Next podcast.
